AI-Assisted Subjective Assessment

Just like a face-to-face consultation, our AI conducts a thorough subjective assessment – built from the ground up by a physiotherapist. It explores your symptoms in detail: where your pain is, what makes it better or worse, how it affects your daily life, and screens for any red flags. The conversation adapts based on your answers, covering aggravating and easing factors, pain behaviour, functional limitations, and relevant medical history.

Natural clinical conversation – not a rigid form
Explores aggravating/easing factors, pain behaviour & functional impact
Region-specific screening questions tailored to your injury
Built-in red flag screening for serious conditions

Hello John! I'm here to help assess your injury. Could you tell me what's been troubling you?
I've had lower back pain for about 3 weeks now, it started after lifting something heavy at work
AI Physio Assistant
Thank you John. Has the pain been improving, worsening, or staying about the same since it started?

Step 3

Movement & Special Tests Assessment

Our AI guides you through targeted movement tests and specialist diagnostic tests for your affected area. Watch video demonstrations, try each movement, and report your results. For selected movements, you can also use your device camera to capture an estimated range of motion automatically — entirely optional, with on-device processing and a self-report alternative always available. This clinical data directly informs your provisional diagnosis and helps the reviewing physiotherapist create a more targeted rehab program.

Specialist diagnostic tests (e.g. McMurray’s, Lachman’s, Finkelstein’s)
Optional camera-based range-of-motion capture, processed on your device

Measure your range of motion with just your camera

For selected movements, you can point your phone camera at yourself and we’ll estimate your joint range of motion automatically — turning your movement into objective data your physiotherapist can review. No wearables, no special equipment, and nothing leaves your device.

Objective range-of-motion estimateReal-time joint tracking converts your movement into a measured angle, supporting a more informed assessment.

Always optionalPrefer not to use the camera? A self-report option is available for every movement — your assessment is just as thorough either way.

The camera provides an estimate to support — not replace — the judgement of your HCPC-registered physiotherapist. It is not a clinical measurement device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our AI-assisted assessment has been built from the ground up by a physiotherapist. It conducts a clinical conversation that asks the right questions about your symptoms, pain levels, and medical history to build a comprehensive picture of your condition – just like a real consultation, but available anytime from home.
For selected movements, you can use your device’s camera to capture an estimated range of motion automatically. It tracks your joints as you move and converts that into a measured angle, giving the reviewing physiotherapist objective data to work with. It’s entirely optional – a simple self-report option is available for every movement – and the analysis happens on your own device, so no image or video is ever stored or transmitted. The estimate is there to support, not replace, the physiotherapist’s clinical judgement, and it is not a clinical measurement device.
Absolutely. We are fully UK GDPR compliant. Your health data is encrypted in transit and stored securely on UK-based servers. We never sell your data to third parties. You can read our full Privacy Policy for more details.
Every assessment is reviewed by a fully qualified physiotherapist who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). They review the AI diagnosis, create your personalised rehab program, and ensure everything is safe and appropriate.
Physitrack is a world-leading exercise prescription platform used by healthcare professionals worldwide. Your personalised rehab program is delivered through Physitrack, giving you access to clear video demonstrations of every exercise. You can access it on your phone, tablet, or desktop – or download the PhysiApp.
Each assessment is designed for one injury at a time to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. If you have multiple injuries, you're welcome to complete separate assessments for each one.
If your employer or NHS trust has a partnership with us, you'll have been provided with a referral code. Simply select the "NHS / Corporate Referral" option when starting your assessment and enter your code. The assessment is fully covered – no payment required.
Current research consistently shows that exercise-based physiotherapy achieves outcomes comparable to hands-on treatments such as massage and joint manipulation – often with longer-lasting results. By learning to manage your symptoms through a structured rehabilitation program, you take control of your recovery without relying on repeated clinic visits.
After you receive your rehab program, we’ll send you a brief SMS at Week 1 and Week 6 to see how you’re getting on. You simply rate your symptoms on a scale of 1–10. If your symptoms aren’t improving by Week 6, we can recommend your GP reviews your case. You can opt out of SMS follow-ups during your assessment if you prefer.
Yes. Your recovery doesn’t end when your program arrives. In your secure patient portal you can raise questions or concerns about your rehabilitation at any time through our clinical AI assistant, which provides instant, rehabilitation-related guidance. If anything isn’t clear or your circumstances change, it’s there to help whenever you need it.
You always have a route to a human. If you don’t feel the AI assistant has answered your concern, you can forward it straight to a qualified, HCPC-registered physiotherapist, who can review it and, where appropriate, adjust your program. A physiotherapist response can take up to a maximum of 5 working days. Please note this is not an emergency or urgent-care service – if you experience severe or worsening symptoms, seek appropriate medical attention.
If your symptoms haven’t improved by Week 6, we may recommend sending a summary letter to your GP surgery for further investigation. This letter outlines your assessment findings and recommends next steps. You will always receive a copy of this letter, and we will only do this with your consent (which you can provide during the assessment).
Yes. At the end of your assessment, you can upload a PDF of your MRI, X-ray, or other scan results, or simply type the findings into a text box. This additional information helps the reviewing physiotherapist build a more complete picture of your condition.
Physio From Home is designed to complement traditional face-to-face physiotherapy, not to replace it entirely. Should your symptoms persist, worsen, or fail to respond to your rehabilitation program, we recommend arranging an in-person physiotherapy appointment – either privately or through your local NHS provider – for further assessment and hands-on treatment.
